To recruit, retain, and graduate a diverse student body, the vice provost for enrollment management oversees various offices contributing to that mission. While these offices have separate functions, they work together and with other campus partners to meet university enrollment goals.
Virginia Tech's focus on advancing professionally-oriented graduate programs is a new initiative aimed at accelerating the university's ability to produce more market-ready professionals and meet the demand of employers everywhere. The slate administrator position reports to the associate vice provost of enrollment management for professionally oriented graduate programs (PGPs) and works closely with graduate program directors and the Graduate School.
The slate administrator for PGPs primarily provides development and support for inquiry and applicant communication, the application cycle, and CRM portal maintenance. They also manage data within the CRM for professionally-oriented graduate programs. This position will be responsible for managing CRM PGP data and serve as the functional lead in integrating the CRM with the University's SIS (Ellucian Banner) and external systems.
It is important to note that this position will be expected to provide training, documentation, and oversight for system users, and regularly implement procedures to enhance recruitment and admission processes, promoting the strategic and sustainable growth of PGPs.
While this position is eligible for fully remote work, the successful candidate will be required to periodically visit the Blacksburg campus to design processes for short periods every couple of months throughout the year.
* Responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the CRM, acting as the primary CRM administrator for PGPs.
* Perform system configuration, maintenance, enhancement, and quality control processes for all PGP online applications, forms, decisions, application reviews, workflows, communication, portals, etc.
* Responsible for all PGP data imports and the integration/automation with external systems and vendors.
* Ensure the integrity of data entered into admission systems and SIS through assessment and quality control reviews, and audits, following all university data governance and privacy policies.
* Create and maintain documentation for PGP application processing in CRM and the data integration between CRM and other systems.
* In partnership with other campus slate administrators, identify and incorporate new CRM functionality and enhancements on a regular basis for PGPs.
* Serve as the primary technical liaison for CRM with PGP internal stakeholders, including the Graduate School, program directors, recruiters, and marketing/communications staff.
* Create and maintain custom reports and complex queries.
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

* Earned Bachelor's degree.
* Demonstrated experience using the Slate CRM software in an administrative capacity.
* Relevant work experience in project management providing technical and operational support in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrated skills in the use of cross-platform information management through integrated and relational databases and vendor software.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
* Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to leverage technology for data-informed decisions in complex situations.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, web technology, or related field.
* Proficiency with SQL, systems/technology integration, spreadsheets, database applications, programming/scripting, HTML, XML, and other web technologies.
* Experience working with higher education student systems, including but not limited to CRMs, admissions systems, and student information systems such as Ellucian Banner.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and to prioritize workloads according to volume, urgency, etc.
* Strong attention to detail and a proven record of testing, proofing, and creating documentation.
