Job Description

Virginia Tech seeks an experienced individual committed to student development, equity, and inclusion to serve as the Director of Undergraduate Academic Integrity. The Director oversees the Office of Academic Integrity which is the steward of the university's Undergraduate Honor System (https://honorsystem.vt.edu). The Undergraduate Honor System emphasizes the personal responsibility of all members of the university community to promote academic integrity at Virginia Tech. The Office of Undergraduate Academic Integrity engages students and faculty as partners and leaders in a learning-centered model designed to uphold academic integrity through education and adjudication. The Director of Undergraduate Academic Integrity reports within Undergraduate Education and Undergraduate Academic Affairs within the office of the Executive Vice President and Provost.

Specific responsibilities of the Director of the Office of Undergraduate Academic Integrity include:
1. Provide leadership and oversight of all activities of the Undergraduate Honor System, the
Honor Council, and the professional staff of the Office of Undergraduate Academic Integrity.
2. Ensure Undergraduate Honor Code processes and procedures are conducted in
accordance with established policies and appropriate due process requirements.
3. Supervise and mentor a professional team of 5 individuals.
4. Review Undergraduate Honor Code policy and procedures regularly and collaborate with
representatives of university governance and the upper administration to propose updates
as appropriate.
5. Provide ongoing assessment of the Undergraduate Honor System processes and
procedures and regularly update the campus community on the activities of the Office of
Undergraduate Academic Integrity.
6. Participate in professional organizations designed to promote academic integrity.

Required Qualifications

1. Master's degree
2. Experience working within a university student conduct, academic integrity, or community
standards system
3. Working knowledge of best practices in academic integrity
4. Experience supervising a team of employees
5. Experience with adjudication and due process
6. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

1. Ph.D. in relevant field
2. Experience teaching in higher education
3. Experience delivering educational programs
4. Experience working with faculty
5. Experience mentoring students in leadership roles
6. Experience with student conduct software (e.g. Maxient)
