We're currently searching for a Medical Technologist Senior to join our Schiffert Health Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you're experienced Medical Technologist with supervisory experience, please keep reading.

Here's what you need to know about the role:
1) You'll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and wellbeing of students in higher education.
2) You'll be reporting to the the Manager of Quality and Communication Services, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% staff appointment.
3) The Medical Technologist Senior is a lead position for the Schiffert Health Center laboratory. The individual provides daily direction to all laboratory staff with regard to laboratory workload, policies, procedures. The Medical Technologist Senior is responsible for test performance and technical problems as they arise. In addition, this individual motivates, coordinates and supports staff to ensure quality results are reported in a timely manner, maintain quality assurance of the laboratory by performing proficiency testing, and troubleshoots any issues with the equipment used in the laboratory. Maintain courteous and professional attitude to SHC patients."

Required Qualifications

* Knowledge of methodologies in all laboratory sections and proper technique in all phases of laboratory science.
* Proficiency in laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
* A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience and five (5) years medical laboratory experience.
* National certification and registry with an accredited agency.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with Orchard Harvest Laboratory Information System (LIS).
* Experience with Point and Click EHR.
* Previous experience as in a university health center laboratory setting preferred.
* Ability to do highly complex procedures.
