Highlights of your responsibilities as a Payroll Accountant include:
* Process payroll reconciliations
* Provides payroll adjustments, garnishment documents and withholding orders
* Collaborate on special projects as necessary to support the payroll team and university goals

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business-related and/or an equivalent level of training and experience directly related to professional accounting, auditing or preparing payroll
* Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
* Experience gathering, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting data
* Experience using automated systems and software such as Microsoft applications
* Knowledge of time keeping systems

Preferred Qualifications

* General knowledge of the difference between pre & post tax benefits and the relation to net pay
* Knowledge of garnishment regulations
* Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding taxation of employee fringe benefits and payments made to those in a nonresident alien tax status
* General payroll experience
