Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Library Data Analytics and Assessment, the Library Data Specialist will focus on collecting data for internal and external reporting purposes at the University Libraries. The ideal candidate has a robust understanding of reporting and experience with data collection, and data manipulation as well as the ability to communicate effectively, and learn various software applications.

Required Qualifications

-Experience working in Microsoft Excel at a high proficiency level
-Experience with data collection from multiple sources
-Experience with data cleaning (data transformation)
-Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
-Experience with creating and updating workflow documentation
-Experience interpreting and applying complex policies, procedures, and practices

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working in an academic or academic library environment
-Experience with data transformation software such as Tableau Prep, OpenRefine and/or using R or Python for data cleaning
-Experience working with Google Sites or other website editing software
-Experience with gathering and/or reporting ARL, ACRL, IPEDS data

Additional Information

  • Work schedule: Average of 20-30 hours per week to be worked between the hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Must be able to work school holidays and summer hours.
  • The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
