This is an entry level position to be a part of the ACC Network branch of HokieVision at Virginia Tech. The goal of the ACC Network team at Virginia Tech is to develop and execute the best possible broadcasts of Virginia Tech Athletics for use on various ESPN platforms throughout the season. In this role the Assistant Director will be apart of these broadcasts in various capacities depending on the requirements of the broadcast. The position reports to the Senior Director / ACC Network and works with the rest of the ACC Network staff as well as HokieVision staff to achieve the goals that are set by the department. Additionally, this role would serve as the representative for the ACC Network on reoccurring planning meetings for certain sports to help deliver and share relevant information to other parts of the Athletics Department at Virginia Tech.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (completed by May 2024) with relevant level of training and/or experience or a master's degree.
Experience working in live sports broadcast control room setting.
Previous work live sport broadcasts not limited to, but including:
Technical Director
Camera Operator
Replay Operator
Audio
Graphics/Scorebug
Video Shading
Experience using Adobe Suite including Photoshop & Premiere or similar products.
Commitment to diversity.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Work a flexible schedule including outside of normal business hours, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous work as a Technical Director on live broadcasts using industry standard switchers.
Familiarity with ESPN broadcast standards and practices.
Previously served as a Director for live sports broadcast.
Experience working with students.
Being able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
Previous work with Ross Acuity Switcher/Xpression and/or Evertz Dreamcatcher.
