The Position

The Building Attendant is responsible for overseeing the general cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings and surrounding grounds, including but not limited to maintaining lighting, small plumbing and electrical repairs, as well as the pool vehicles assigned to those buildings. Additional duties include driving a Company vehicle for general courier services i.e. mail/supplies pickup and delivery. Performs other duties as required and assigned. Work is to be performed under general supervision with detailed instructions given on special assignments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees general Cleaning/Housekeeping and Maintenance of Assigned Buildings
  • Performs small maintenance repairs in assigned buildings, which includes changing light bulbs, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, minor office system and equipment repairs, hanging whiteboards in offices and assembling other office furniture items, as needed
  • Removes all trash from property keeping buildings in a clean and orderly condition
  • Report any obvious building/equipment repairs; identify problems (such as light bulb replacement, lock adjustment, carpet repair, broken glass, holes in walls, ceiling tile replacement, tripping hazards, etc.) and resolve the problems
  • Reviews cleaning services vendors daily work to assure quality of work
  • General Courier Services - mail/supplies pickup and delivery
  • Performs general maintenance to outside of assigned buildings and surrounding landscape for aesthetics and safety
  • Oversees grass mowing and weed cutting at assigned locations
  • Provides preventive maintenance of facility and office equipment
  • Assists with Special Projects/Inspections and escorting vendors at various buildings
  • Inspects fire extinguishers and sprinkler control valves as mandated in assigned buildings
  • Works with the Safety Team to monitor/refill first aid kits at assigned buildings
  • Assists with and maintain snow removal and sidewalk salting
  • Pool Vehicles - Cleaning inside and out and coordinating routine maintenance and inspections
  • Monitors and maintains all building systems as assigned by manager

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Organizational skills; Ability to understand mechanical terminology and safely perform small mechanical/plumbing/electrical repairs and carpentry work.
  • Key Competencies: Ability to organize/schedule work activities; ability to work safely while on a ladder; ability to safely lift 50-100 lbs. and transport 50 feet; ability to safely operate power tools, equipment, and hand tools; ability to adapt to changes in assignments; ability to safely perform all duties in compliance with the MSDS guidelines for use of products/chemicals and the proper use of safety equipment provided by the company.
