Our team in Space and Defense is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join them. You will report to the Quality Assurance Engineer Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.

To be considered for the Quality Assurance Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field or a bachelor's degree with relative work experience to a Quality role. An associate degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience functioning in a team-based manufacturing environment.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:

  • Work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Utilize word processing, database, and enterprise information systems software. Proficiency in Microsoft Suites is beneficial.
  • Be a self-starter as an individual and function efficiently in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Work on motion control and electronic components
  • Perform document review pertaining to contract, industry, and other regulatory flow downs.
  • Use analytical tools such as SPC, Gage R&R, 5 Why or Fault Trees
  • Be responsible for quote reviews for compliance and quality related cost assignment
  • You will use statistical/ 6 Sigma tools to maintain both internal and external quality.
  • Provide responses to both internal/ external quality issues with emphasis on prevention and cascading lessons learned to other programs and products
  • You can expect to develop quality documentation and test procedures.
  • Work with all facets of the organization to maintain compliance to customer/ internal part and specification requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relations which will require some travel.
