This position is responsible for the management and direction of Private Wealth Advisory, Financial Planning, Private Banking and new business development within the Wealth Management Group. Provides subject matter expertise on the Wealth Management Group's strategic initiatives and offers direction, guidance, and decision making to achieve desired results. This leadership role has direct responsibility for profit generation, business growth and client retention within these areas. Reports to the head of Wealth Management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Proactively identify solutions, develop and implement policies and strategies necessary to achieve financial goals of the department.

Work with partners in the organization to ensure a cohesive client experience and to deliver a consistent message to clients and prospective clients. Act as subject matter expert for staff and clients.

Work closely with Chief Investment Officer and Chief Fiduciary Officer to assure a cohesive product offering and client life cycle.

Hire, train, and mentor direct reports to assure First American Bank values and service standards are consistently met. Ensure talent and performance strategies are in place to coach and develop staff. Oversee incentive compensation plans for staff in Wealth Advisory.

Develop and implement marketing initiatives. Participate with bank partners in high end sales opportunities. Presentation skills should be at the most senior level.


Develop, manage, and retain the most complex and important client relationships within Private Wealth Advisory.

Manage expenses and resources to efficiently and effectively accomplish goals and objectives.

Champion the use of technology to meet the needs of our employees and clients.

Create a culture of risk control that safeguards our customers and our business.

Actively participate in any committee appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College degree with advanced certificate or degree preferred.

Professional credentials such as CFP, CPA, or CFA preferred.

Minimum 10 years of experience in the Wealth Management field with demonstrated experience in comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and business development required.

Proven track record in a leadership role within the financial services industry. Management style should be consistent with a team oriented, collaborative business environment.

Strong written and verbal communications skills including ability to speak before groups.

Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational skills.

Must have excellent computer skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn and understand other systems and software easily.

Must be able to utilize technology to facilitate goals of the department.

This position requires regular travel by car to various locations throughout the Bank's Chicago market.

Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.

Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Additional hours will be required as workload dictates.
