CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our Infrastructure - Water/Wastewater Team at our office in either Blacksburg, VA or Richmond, VA.

Clean and safe water and wastewater management is vital for every community's well-being. CHA delivers environmentally friendly and cost-effective water, wastewater and stormwater projects. We offer full engineering and support services for industrial and municipal systems from initial planning through permitting, design, bidding, construction administration, start-up, certification, and ongoing operational assistance.

The Project Engineer conducts the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of technical various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. The individual in this role works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

The Project Engineer monitors progress and performance against the project plan and acts immediately to resolve operational problems and minimize delays, as well as recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results, and makes appropriate corrections. Additionally, the professional in this role identifies, develops, and gathers technical resources necessary to complete assignments.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Valid Driver's License (travel to local client sites)
• Minimum 3 years' related engineering experience required
• Municpal water experience required
• Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the respective engineering field as well as proven ability to practically apply it in a professional environment
• Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Understands QA/QC procedures
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
• Participation in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
