Job Description

Overall Responsibilities: Follows oral and written instructions received from RF devices, plans and loads finished goods and raw materials for outbound customer loads. Responsible for making decisions regarding load distribution, load sequence, damaged goods, truck accuracy and all administrative requirements, to maintain warehouse integrity and accurately fulfilling a customer load.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives job instructions, verify, plan load sequence, and load trailers utilizing RF device and scanner.
  • Balances load to ensure all product rides damage free.
  • Uses fork truck and pallet truck to load product.
  • Physically moves product up to 100 lbs.
  • Completes all administrative functions associated with picking, loading and closing a customer's load.
  • Maintains daily maintenance records on fork trucks.
  • Operates all equipment in a safe, responsible manner.
  • Trains new employees on warehouse procedures.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors and managers.
  • Provide status information to the next shift.
  • Overtime is required to meet production demands and can include Saturdays and Sundays when necessary.
  • Must know and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain warehouse housekeeping and 5S.
  • Perform these and other comparable related duties as instructed by management.
  • Participate in all HPT functions

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to operate a pallet truck and/or fork truck. This position also requires a broad knowledge of warehouse management systems. The individual must have a demonstrated knowledge of warehouse procedures including but not limited to, warehouse layout, maintaining warehouse inventory accuracy, safe material loading both in the warehouse and within a trailer, knowledge of load closing and the discipline to maintain productivity and efficiency in an environment with little direct supervision.

Education, Training and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); must be able to operate pallet truck and/or fork truck. Previous warehouse experience including order picking and loading. Basic math and computer skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks.
