Our team in Space & Defense is looking for Receiving Inspector to join them. You will report to the Supplier Quality Manager, and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work from complex drawings.
  • Perform inspection and test procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of documentation procedures related to manufacturing and quality of hardware.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, Data Entry as required.
  • Proficient using Connect/ERP/ETQ to collect data and maintain inspection criteria and information.
  • Maintain Receiving records / documentation and job files as required, to include creation and maintenance of job summary cards for inspection criteria.
  • Process incoming material per Standard Procedures and Quality Assurance Procedures as required.
  • Assists in training / cross-training of others.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Process.
  • Work with minimal supervision, i.e. able to establish priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
  • Initiate non-conforming documentation for parts not meeting requirements.
  • With assistance from Quality Engineering and other stakeholders, establish and perform to inspection plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of inline inspection, machine shop inspection or two years of equivalent experience
  • To be proficient in basic computer skills
  • Must have experience using standard mechanical measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, various gauges, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience reading blueprints and the ability to understand and interpret purchase orders and certification requirements and supplier provided data.

The base pay range represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance.
